This Georgian fusee dial wall clock exhibits a round mahogany case in a warm brown tone with twin side-opening doors and a cast brass bezel holding a convex glass cover. The off-white painted iron dial shows black Roman numerals, the signature 'KING LONDON', and ornate pierced black hands. Old purchase and repair labels line the interior, and a winding key dangles from the lower mount. The piece measures 33 cm in height and width with a depth of 16 cm. Traditional proportions make the clock suitable for mounting on a narrow wall space within a study, hallway, or gentleman's library. The design complements classic interiors, functioning as a practical timepiece with an eight-day duration fusee mechanism while adding period character to domestic spaces.

A Georgian fusee dial clock is an English mechanical wall clock produced during the Georgian era, characterised by a circular wooden surround, painted metal dial, and a fusee mechanism designed to maintain constant torque as the mainspring unwinds.

These timepieces are constructed using a flame mahogany or oak wooden case, a cast brass bezel holding flat or convex glass, and a painted iron dial with brass clockwork movements.

Authentic period examples feature hand-painted Roman numerals, a gut or chain-driven fusee cone mechanism inside a heavy brass movement, and hand-cast metal bezel surrounds with period patina.

Mount the clock on a prominent neutral wall, such as above a hallway console table or in an office space, allowing the rich mahogany tone and classic geometry to complement both contemporary and traditional decor.

Wind the mechanism regularly using the correct key size, keep the clock level on the wall, avoid hanging it near direct heat sources or dampness, and clean the wooden surround with specialized beeswax.
