19thc Chinese Lacquered Table Cabinet

A highly decorative & practical late 19thc Chinese lacquered table cabinet, with fine decoration.

The sides, top, doors and interior are all lacquered and have gilt chinoiserie decoration.

The cabinet consists of two outer doors with recessed oval panels profusely decorated, the panels depicting landscape scenes with figures. Surrounding these panels there is a foliage design of fine quality.

The interior consists of six drawers with ivory knobs, all the drawers again finely decorated with gilding. The inside of the two doors have gilt decoration of a bamboo design.

The piece stands on shaped bracket feet.

There is slight chipping in some places but this has been retouched and is generally in good order.

This would be ideal as a general table cabinet or very stylish in a bedroon or dressing room to store jewellery.
