Ritas Bazaar has dated this Herend Porcelain Urn Pair to the 1960s.

The flared, fluted bodies rise from square plinths supported by gilt lion-paw feet, an elaborate Empire construction that is particularly rare in Herend production.
The 6401 was Herend's large Empire model, catalogued at 18 cm high and 20.5 cm in diameter. The related smaller 6402 model measures only 13 cm high, placing this pair in the substantial large format.

Made during the socialist period, the pair belongs to a time when Herend's hand-painted porcelain remained an important export product and was produced in short runs for international markets.
Each underside bears the blue Herend Hungary Handpainted mark, painted 6401/VIT designation, impressed 6401 shape number and further factory work marks.

Dimensions: The first vase weighs 1,503 grams and measures 19.2 cm high with a diameter of 20.3 cm. The second vase weighs 1,476 grams and measures 19 cm high with a diameter of 20.3 cm.
Condition: Both vases are in fantastic condition. The painted decoration and burnished gilding remain exceptionally fresh and well preserved, with no visible chips, cracks, repairs or losses.
