The World is Made of Glass Ltd. has dated this Georgian Shaft Globe Decanter to the 18th Century.

The decanter is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with some 250 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the kicked-in base.

The decanter is of shaft and globe form and measures 14.5 cm (5.8 inches) in diameter at its widest point. The decanter is 25.5 cm (10.2 inches) in height without the stopper and 29 cm (11.6 inches) in height with the stopper inserted. The stopper is of traditional solid ball form containing multiple air tears. It is an excellent fit, and is of the correct type and metal. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There is an old collectors' sticker on the underside of the base.
Lead glass weighing in at 1.075 kg. (~ 2 lb. 6 oz.).
