P A Oxley Antique Clocks & Barometers has dated this Scottish Mahogany Longcase Clock to the Georgian era.
A rare strike/silent facility is found above the number XII. The makers name and place of work is shown to the centre of the dial, Green of Edinburgh.

The excellent quality mahogany veneered case has well figured veneers to both the trunk door and base. The base has small bracket feet which are typical of this area of Scotland and the period. The hood has a lockable glazed brass bezel and a plain broken arch top. C.1810
An excellent example.
