Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the 18th century, Georgian corner cabinets were designed to optimise space efficiency in formal rooms by fitting flush into unused wall angles. They typically feature refined proportions, raised field panels, and high-quality hardwoods such as mahogany.

Georgian corner cupboards were primarily constructed from solid mahogany or oak, often featuring hand-cut dovetail joints and raised panel doors. The interiors frequently contained fixed wooden shelving behind panelled doors, complemented by brass ironmongery.

Authentic 18th-century pieces display signs of period craftsmanship, including hand-sawn secondary timbers, hand-cut dovetails, and original brass escutcheon plates. Look for natural shrinkage in the timber panels and wear around cabinet hinges consistent with centuries of use.

A Georgian mahogany cabinet acts as a structural focal point in modern dining rooms, hallways, or living spaces by utilising empty corners. Balance the dark wood tones with light neutral walls, contemporary ceramics, or minimalist metal accessories.

Keep the cabinet away from direct heat sources and direct sunlight to prevent the mahogany finish from drying out or fading. Dust regularly with a soft microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year to preserve the patina.
