This is an English, Georgian, baluster tazza dating from the early 18th century, c1730.
The tazza is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the foot commensurate with 200+ years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the foot which is nicely striated as is the bowl.
The tazza has a shallow bowl measuring 23 cm (9.2 inches) in diameter at the rim. The bowl sits on a collar, a wide annulated knop, and an inverted baluster containing an air tear. The stem leads to a domed and folded foot which measures 12.7 cm (5.1 inches) in diameter. The tazza is 12.8 cm (5.1 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, other significant scratches or any evidence of restoration. There is a small inclusion in the metal of the edge of the bowl rim dating from manufacture.
It is made from good, grey, English lead metal weighing in at 720 g. (~ 1 lb 9 oz.).
