Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The Imari style produced by Royal Crown Derby is inspired by Japanese export porcelain, featuring a distinct colour palette of rich cobalt blue, iron red, and lavish 22-karat gilt highlights arranged in intricate floral and geometric patterns.

Edwardian miniature ceramics were typically crafted from fine bone china, hand-decorated using a combination of transfer printing and hand-painted enamel glazes, followed by gold leaf gilding and kiln firing.

Authentic pieces feature the printed Royal Crown Derby backstamp on the base, often accompanied by a year cypher code, a painted pattern number such as 2444, and crisp, high-quality gilding without misaligned decoration.

Miniature porcelain vases work best as cabinet curiosities, layered on a styled bookshelf, arranged inside a glass display case, or grouped alongside other antique ceramics on a mantelpiece.

Gilt porcelain should be dusted gently with a soft, clean microfibre cloth or dry soft-bristled brush, avoiding water immersion, chemical detergents, and abrasive polishes that could wear away the delicate gold leaf layer.
