Georgian Hop And Barley Engraved Ale Tumbler

This is a late Georgian, engraved glass tumbler dating from the second half of the 18th century, c1790.
 
The glass is in excellent condition for its age. It shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base commensurate with some 200 years of use. It has a rough pontil mark on the underside of the base.
 
 
The glass is roughly cylindrical in shape, measuring 8.3 cm (3.3 inches) in diameter at the upper rim. The bowl is engraved with a single hop flower with crossed barley ears to verso, the letters ''JP'' appearing alongside the stems of the barley ears. The glass ends in a base that measures 7 cm (2.8 inches) in diameter. The glass is 9.8 cm (4 inches) in height. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
 
English lead glass weighing in at 340 g. (~ 12 oz.).
