In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Victorian enamelled glass wine jug is a liquid vessel produced during the late 19th century, crafted from coloured or clear glass and adorned with hand-painted enamel decorations such as floral patterns or scrollwork.

Victorian coloured glassware was typically hand-blown using metallic oxides to achieve specific hues like green, ruby, or amber. Surface textures were created using optic moulds, while detailed decorations were painted using glass-based enamel pigments fused in a kiln.

Authentic pieces usually feature a polished or rough pontil mark on the base, slight irregular bubbles within the glass, and raised enamel decoration showing age-appropriate wear. Hand-fitted stoppers often feature matching ground glass joints or corresponding production numbers.

Coloured glass items can be displayed on sideboards, open shelving, or window sills where natural light highlights the transparent hue and surface details. They function effectively as standalone accents or grouped with contrasting clear and tinted glassware.

Clean gently by hand using lukewarm water and mild dish detergent, avoiding abrasive sponges that could scratch the enamel paint. Avoid hot water, dishwasher washing, or prolonged liquid storage to prevent clouding and preserve delicate enamel details.
