Arundel Clocks has dated this French Ormolu Mantel Clock to the 1860s.
I have for sale a very small but heavy solid gilded bronze/ormolu mantle clock with stunning gilded extras made in France around 1860 , this is a very rare style mantle clock in very good original condition with a boy riading a charot pulled by a lage bird the whole clock is a really a heavy piece of art with a mint white dial, moon hands and with an old movement with outside count wheel striking on a small sweet bell this clock would have cost a small fortune when new , this clock has come direct from the original owners estate so fresh to the market.

The Case
To the rear is a signature of the maker.
The Dial
The dial is in original condition in white porcilain housed within with a heavy gilded brass ring, the clock also retains its original blued steel moon hands.

The Movement
The movement is an eight day time and strike , which strikes the hours and halves via a small bell to the rear a nice crisp sound, the movement has been fully serviced so keeping great time over the eight days via the original pendulum

The movement is signed by the movement maker.
Overall a very beautiful and very heavy top end quality French mantle clock by a quality French maker that looks stunning on display and contains all of its original features this is quite a rare find these days find another like this one for the best collections.
