Large Pair of Chinese Export Porcelain Vases with Figural Decoration, Circa 1930

Description

This Large Pair of early 20th century Chinese porcelain vases with elongated baluster forms with flared rims and a vibrant iron-red / coral ground at the neck and foot. The bodies are exquisitely hand painted in delicate enamels depicting elegant female figures wearing kimono offering gifts in a garden landscape setting beneath blossoming trees. The detailed figural scenes are framed by floral and cloud-form borders enriched with gilt accents. The palette includes soft pinks, greens, lavender, black detailing, and gold highlights typical of Republic period export porcelain.

The composition evokes traditional themes of refinement, femininity, and seasonal beauty, highly desirable in Chinese decorative arts and chinoiserie interiors.

Both signed underneath from Dehau, Fujian.
