This very fine piece is of exceptional quality, beautifully hand carved with rich patination, grain and line inlaid throughout. The rising hood features a broken swan neck pediment with centred finial and reeded detailing above a single glazed glass panelled door flanked with a gorgeous pair of ring turned reverse tapering reeded columns and is fitted with a well cast brass escutcheon with key and houses a fabulous brass dial of circular form which features both roman and decimal numerals flanked decorative arrangements of scrolling foliate and engraved ''William Betagh, Dublin''.
