Georgian Rare Glass Bowl, Domed and Folded Foot

Description

This is a rare Georgian glass bowl dating from the first half of the 18th century.

The bowl is in the clear colourway. The bowl is 11.5 cm (4.6 inches) in height and measures 17.2 cm (6.9 inches) in diameter at the bowl rim. The bowl sits on a domed and folded foot which has a rough pontil mark at its apex. It weighs 650 g. (~ 1 lb. 7 oz.). There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. There is a white inclusion (probably clinker) in the metal of the bowl and a couple of minute inclusions in the fold of the foot, all dating from manufacture.
