Description

Unusual Sheraton style open bookcase and side cabinet c.1930. 7'6" long, with a concave front two door cabinet (minimum internal depth 13½") fitted with a single shelf inside. With a single drawer above and flanked by open bookshelves, each with two adjustable shelves (depth 12½"). Walnut bookleaf veneers laid to create symmetrical patterns on the top, front and sides, with crossbanded borders. Beautiful hand painted floral frieze to drawer front and apron above the bookshelves and continued on the sides. Matching decoration to the door fronts featuring superbly painted floral arrangements of various recognisable specimens within oval frames hung from ribbon garlands and with Classical acanthus leaf finials below. Fluted column pilasters flanking the doors and at the corners front and rear. Raised on tall turned and reeded feet. Very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
