Standing almost 16 inches tall, this increasingly rare example is in superb condition. The mahogany case has inset brass to the chamfered corners, a fully locking front door/panel and it stands on ogee brass bracket feet. It has relined sound frets to the sides, a glass rear door to highlight the excellent quality movement and retains its original brass carrying handle to the pad top.The recently overhauled and cleaned eight day duration fusee rack-striking five pillar movement has an anchor recoil escapement and as such benefits from my three year guarantee. The full hours are struck on a beautiful sounding bell. The back plate is heavily engraved and signed with the makers name - Edward Bird, Bristol.
