This is a late Georgian mouth-blown dry mustard pot with a lemon squeezer foot dating from the beginning of the 19th century, c1810.
The pot is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear consistent with some 200 years of use.
The pot is an inverted baluster in shape. The reservoir is decorated with vertically moulded ribs and has an everted rim. The reservoir sits on a thin annular collar and a short, plain stem which leads to a terraced lemon squeezer foot that measures 4.8 cm (1.9 inches) square. The pot is 11.3 cm (4.5 inches) in height without the lid and 15.5 cm (6.2 inches) in height with the lid inserted.
The lid is panel moulded and domed and is possibly the original. It is of the same colour and metal as the decanter and is a good fit. It ends in a moulded ball finial.
There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
The pot weighs i...n at 245 g. (~ 9 oz.).
