Rare & Impressive Pair of Flight & Barr Worcester Imari Vases, c.1894 – Unusual Experimental Marks
This outstanding and exceptionally rare pair of Flight & Barr Worcester covered vases dates to around 1894 and features highly unusual factory marks, believed to have been used only briefly on experimental bodies. The mismatched marks — one in puce, the other in blue — make this pair particularly fascinating to collectors and Worcester enthusiasts.
Beautifully crafted in the classical urn form, each vase is topped with a domed lid and acorn finial and decorated in the rich and vibrant Imari palette, highlighted with superb gilding throughout. The hand-painted foliate and floral motifs display the high level of skill and artistry associated with late 19th-century Worcester.
Standing an impressive 29 cm tall, they offer excellent decorative presence. Condition is very good overall, with only minor age-related wear and a possible historical repair to one finial, visible only on clos...e inspection.
