The World is Made of Glass Ltd. has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The decanter is in excellent condition for its age.

The decanter is Prussian shaped with two heavily cut neck rings. The shoulders are cut with broad petal flutes and there is a basal band of cut finger fluting. The body of the decanter has been wheel-engraved with a swag and tail pattern, bows holding tails in the form of thistles. The base is plain with a polished out pontil mark to its centre and measures 10.5 cm (4.2 inches) in diameter. The decanter is 23.5 cm (9.4 inches) in height without the stopper and 27 cm (10.8 inches) in height with the stopper inserted.

The stopper is of radially cut mushroom form, and is probably the original. It is of the same age and metal as the decanter and is an excellent fit.
There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration.
