A Rare 18th Century Blue Rim Sugar Bowl

Description

A rare 18th Century glass sugar bowl. This superb example is of rounded pedestal form, with a reticulated honeycomb moulded body. The rim is finished in an applied blue band. The squat stem is moulded in a sympathetic wrythen style and the lightly domed foot has a broken pontil mark to the centre. A fine period piece, both practical and decorative. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no chips or cracks. There are a couple of ash deposits in the glass and some striations. This is not damage and occurred in the manufacturing process.
