This set of eight Victorian wine glasses dates from the English period around 1880. Fashioned from emerald green glass, each piece displays a distinct tulip-shaped bowl, a turned baluster stem with a bulbous central node, and a flat circular foot. The transparent tinted material catches the light across the smooth surfaces of the bowls and the moulded contours of the stems. Standing 14.1 cm high, these goblets are proportioned for practical beverage service. They suit placement on a dining table or a sideboard top during formal dinners or festive gatherings. They integrate well into traditional dining rooms, cabinet displays, or period table settings, adding a vibrant splash of colour to glassware collections. The uniform design ensures a cohesive presentation when arranged together for serving guests or as decorative accents on wooden furniture surfaces.

During the late 19th century, coloured glassware gained popularity in Britain, frequently designed to mask sediment in wines or complement elaborate dinner table settings.

These pieces were typically hand-blown using lead or soda glass infused with metallic oxides, such as copper or chromium, to achieve deep green shades.

Authentic pieces often exhibit minor hand-blown variations, polished pontil marks on the underside of the base, and slight air bubbles trapped within the glass matrix.

They can be displayed inside a glass-fronted cabinet or arranged along a sideboard top, introducing saturated colour to contemporary dining spaces.

Wash stemware individually by hand using lukewarm water and mild liquid detergent, avoiding dishwashers and extreme temperature shifts to prevent thermal cracking.
