Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Cocktail cabinets gained immense popularity during the interwar period of the 1920s and 1930s, as home entertaining and American-style cocktail culture became fashionable in British and European households.

These pieces typically feature solid hardwood carcasses finished with highly figured burr walnut veneers, complemented by elaborate brass or gilt hardware, dovetail joints, and fitted interior compartments for glassware.

Authenticity is determined by inspecting the veneer work, traditional hand-cut dovetailing in the drawers, the style of the brass hinges and locks, and the presence of period-appropriate interior mirrors or pull-out serving slides.

A vintage cocktail cabinet serves as a sophisticated focal point in a living room or dining room, functioning both as a standalone statement piece and a practical station for entertaining guests.

Maintain walnut furniture by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent the veneer from drying out or cracking, and clean surfaces periodically using a soft, dry cloth without harsh chemical polishes.
