Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian glassware, particularly from the late 18th century around 1790, transitioned from heavy baluster stems to more refined, slender forms with tapered bowls and delicate diamond or floral wheel-engraving.

These glasses were traditionally mouth-blown using lead glass or flint glass, shaped by hand using traditional tools, and often finished with hand-cut or wheel-engraved decorative bands along the rim.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit characteristic signs of age such as pontil marks on the underside of the base, subtle surface wear, minor air bubbles within the glass matrix, and slight irregularities inherent to hand-blown manufacturing.

Antique stemware can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets as focal points of historical interest, or used selectively during special occasions to bring tactile texture and heritage character to a table setting.

Antique glass should always be washed by hand in warm water using a mild, non-abrasive detergent, avoiding dishwashers and sudden temperature fluctuations to prevent thermal shock and preserve the historic material.
