Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A rummer is a large, wide-bowled drinking vessel popular in Britain during the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, traditionally used for serving spirits, punch, or wine.

Rummers were predominantly crafted from lead crystal or flint glass, formed by hand-blowing and frequently decorated using wheel-engraving or facet-cutting techniques.

Authentic period examples often feature pontil marks on the base, minor irregularities from hand-blowing, subtle variations in glass colour, and physical wear patterns on the underside of the foot.

These vessels can be arranged inside a glass-fronted display cabinet, styled atop a sideboard, or placed alongside modern barware to introduce historical depth to a dining room or study.

Antique glassware should be hand-washed individually in warm water with a gentle liquid soap, avoiding dishwashers and sudden temperature fluctuations that cause thermal shock.
