The George III period spans from 1760 to 1820, characterised by refined classical proportions, sophisticated cabinet making techniques, and the transition from brass to painted enamel dials.

These timepieces typically utilise solid mahogany and fine veneers over a secondary wood, featuring brass gear trains with 8-day weight-driven mechanical movements.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the hand-cut brass gears, the ageing of the timber, the integration of the movement to the case, and maker signatures inscribed on the dial.

Positioning the piece as a focal point in a hallway, library, or living room allows its architectural presence and traditional craftsmanship to contrast effectively with modern minimalist design.

Regular winding, professional servicing every few years, and placement away from direct sunlight and temperature fluctuations ensure the longevity of the mechanical movement.
