Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

These decorative vases form an Edwardian pair from 1920, fashioned from porcelain with a glossy cobalt blue glaze enriched by extensive gilding and hand-painted enamel decoration. Each urn rests upon a square pedestal base with moulded detailing and features ornate gilded scroll handles projecting from the sides, accompanied by scalloped rims and central white cartouches displaying hand-painted birds amidst foliage. Fully factory-marked with the date code for 1921 and signed by Darlington, both pieces exhibit a polished finish and crisp relief mouldings throughout their structure. Each vase measures 24 cm high, 16.5 cm wide, and 16.5 cm deep. Displayed as a pair, they sit handsomely upon a mantelpiece in an English Country House interior, bringing traditional craftsmanship and colour to a living room, study, or drawing room scheme.

FAQs

Royal Crown Derby porcelain urns are fine bone china decorative vessels produced in Derby, England, frequently characterised by rich cobalt blue ground glazes, elaborate gilded cartouches, and hand-painted miniature panels.

These vessels are crafted from fine bone china, featuring underglaze cobalt enamels, hand-applied gilding, and detailed overglaze painting executed by factory artists.

Authentic pieces display official printed or impressed factory backmarks on the base, often accompanied by date ciphers, model numbers, and artist signatures near the edge of hand-painted vignettes.

A symmetrical pair of gilded porcelain urns provides balanced height and colour when positioned on a fireplace mantelpiece, sideboard top, or inside a glass display cabinet.

Clean gently using a soft, dry microfibre cloth or soft bristles to remove dust, avoiding water immersion, abrasive pads, and chemical cleaners that damage surface gilding.
