Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Nouveau cameo glass is a decorative form of glassware produced by fusing multiple translucent layers of differently coloured glass, which are then acid-etched or hand-carved to reveal multi-layered relief designs inspired by natural and botanical forms.

Craftsmen blew a foundational layer of glass and encased it within one or more contrasting overlay layers. Through hydrofluoric acid etching and wheel-engraving, workers removed portions of the outer layers to create detailed, raised motifs in varied tones.

Authentic pieces feature acid-etched signatures integrated directly into the relief work, distinct structural depth between glass layers, and hand-finished bases. Reproductions often exhibit shallow relief, chemical odours, or uniform machine-moulded seams.

Position cameo glass where natural light can pass through the vessel, such as on a window sill or glass-topped console table, allowing the layered colours and botanical silhouettes to illuminate.

Dust the surface regularly with a soft microfibre cloth. If necessary, clean carefully using lukewarm water and gentle detergent, avoiding chemical solvents, hot water, or automated dishwashers that cause thermal shock.
