Description

This lovely pair of Royal Vienna porcelain vases, date to the late late 19thC, they are beautifully painted with rural scenes and flowers. The gilding is bright and the royal blue ground rich in colour, they have the beehive mark to the underside and are in very good condition, no chips or cracks. One of the bases is a little loose and we have not tightened the bolt to protect the porcelain, however it is totally stable and should not pose any issues.

Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

The Royal Vienna factory, established in the 18th century, was Europes second-oldest hard-paste porcelain manufacturer and became renowned for its neoclassical designs, exquisite hand-painted scenes, and lavish gilding.

These pieces are crafted from hard-paste porcelain, characterised by high firing temperatures, bright white bodies, and intricate overglaze enamel painting combined with raised and burnished gold leaf gilding.

Authentic pieces often feature the underglaze blue beehive mark (or shield mark), impressed numbers indicating year or modeller, and meticulous hand-painted artist signatures within finely detailed cartouches.

Place them as focal points on a mantelpiece, sideboard, or console table to introduce classic colour, metallic warmth, and historical craftsmanship into traditional or eclectic contemporary schemes.

Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh chemical cleaners, immersion in water, or abrasive materials, which can permanently damage the delicate overglaze enamels and fragile gold leaf.
