Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

An opaque twist cordial glass is a style of mid-18th-century British stemware featuring internal white enamel spiral threads encased within clear lead glass, designed specifically for serving strong spirits and cordials.

Craftsmen placed white enamel cane rods into a cylindrical mould, poured molten lead glass around them, drew out the glowing batch, and twisted it to create internal spiral patterns before fusing the stem to the bowl and foot.

Authentic pieces display evidence of hand manufacturing, such as slight asymmetry in the twist, a polished or raw pontil mark beneath the conical foot, and a distinct weight and dark tint indicative of 18th-century lead glass.

Glass stemware from this period can be styled within a lit glass cabinet, arranged atop a sideboard, or displayed alongside period ceramics to add historical contrast to modern dining spaces.

Wash stemware carefully by hand using lukewarm water and mild liquid soap, avoiding hot water temperatures, harsh abrasives, or dishwashers that cause thermal shock and clouding.
