An Edwardian Satinwood Mantel Clock Timepiece

1900 - 1920
Description

An Edwardian mantel clock timepiece, the satinwood case with a gilt brass handle over an ogee shaped top and with gilt brass pineapple finials to each corner, over a straight sided case with delicate boxwood inlay with bows and leaves, to a gilt brass bezel around a 3½” off-white dial with Arabic numerals and outer minute track with quarter markers in red and blued steel hands, and with a French eight day timepiece movement with a lever escapement, the whole raised on gilt brass bracket feet. English, with a French movement, circa 1900.

Condition: Excellent, the clock is in very good condition with no damage or marks to the case, the dial is in excellent condition and the numerals are clear, and the gilt fittings retain the majority of their gilding. The movement has been fully serviced and overhauled and is in excellent working order. Overall the clock has a fine appearance with elegant proportions.

We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
