An exceptional French cherry double-domed armoire or kitchen cupboard of four doors and two drawers. Late 1700s.

The carving detail is extraordinary on this piece. There are working locks with original keys. Superb quality hinges and panelled sides further show the craftsmanship that went into the building of this cupboard.

This French provincial 18th century double-domed armoire is formed in cherry with a warm brown timber colour and stands on carved short cabriole feet. The exterior displays deep arched upper and lower door panels, symmetrical rosette carvings along the top frieze, and external barrel hinges alongside ornate brass keyhole escutcheons and drawer pulls. Two central drawers sit between the upper and lower cupboard sections beneath an arched pediment. It measures 227 cm high by 150 cm wide and 68 cm deep.
