Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Vaseline glass is a specific category of coloured glass containing uranium dioxide, which gives the material a distinct yellow-green tint and causes it to fluoresce bright green under ultraviolet light. It was manufactured predominantly from the mid-nineteenth century through the early twentieth century for tableware and decorative accessories.

Craftspeople formed molten uranium glass into heavy panel-cut or faceted shapes before applying liquid gold leaf trim. Friezes and patterned borders were etched into the surface or fired in kilns to permanently fuse the metallic embellishments to the glass structure.

Authentic pieces feature a characteristic yellowish-green shade and glow under blacklight examination due to the chemical presence of uranium. Collectors also inspect items for ground pontil marks, hand-cut facet alignments, etched signature marks, and period-appropriate surface wear.

Positioning the vase on a window sill or near a natural light source highlights the translucent green-yellow hue of the material. It functions well as a singular table accent, on a fireplace mantelpiece, or grouped inside a glass display cabinet.

Glass decorated with applied gilding should be washed gently by hand using lukewarm water and mild detergent, avoiding harsh chemical cleaners and abrasive cloths. Dry immediately with a lint-free microfibre towel to prevent mineral spotting and preserve the gold detailing.
