DESCRIPTION:
This is a wonderful Gothic revival bronze bracket clock which has a superb double fusee movement which strikes on a bell. The clock is exceptionally detailed and is of stunning grand proportions. the clock has recently been cleaned and serviced and as such is in perfect working order.
If we start with the tip this has lovely swan necks. The dial is silvered and is set out with Roman numerals and is finished with a super pair of shaped fingers. The dial is covered with convex glass framed in brass which is open via a key to the left. The dial is surrounded by pretty leaf and scroll detailing. The dial is flanked by cluster columns which have intricate floral / leaf detailing to the top and bottom. Below this there is further leaf and flower head panel detailing.
The detailing continues to the sides with similar fluted and foliage decorations. The clock is raised on a pretty scrolling leafy feet.
To the rear is the glazed lancet door which opens via a key to access the movement.
The movement is beautifully clean having just been cleaned and serviced and is in perfect working order and happily chiming. The movement is complete with it''s substantial pendulum, the winding key and the two keys which open the front and back doors.
DIMENSIONS: The approximate maximum dimensions are:
- 13.75 inches (35 cm) wide
- 9.5 inches (24 cm) deep
- 16.25 inches (41 cm) high
AGE: The clock is early 19th century.
CONDITION: The case is in lovely condition as can be seen from the photographs. The movement is beautifully clean having just been cleaned and serviced and is in perfect working order and happily chiming.
