A 1940’s Art Deco automaton clock by Vitascope Industries.

This fantastic clock was made in Ramsey on the Isle of Man in circa 1940 and there is an example of one in the Manx Museum.

The clock has an automated rocking ship on an illuminated ocean scene with cloud background. The ship gently rocks with the lit background changing from sunrise to sunset by with a particular vibrant blue to purple. It is encased in the original Bakelite case with chrome Art Deco dial and hands.

The ship is thought to be a replica of the famous Star of India, which was built in Ramsey in 1863.

This particular example is in an absolutely superb original condition, having been cleaned and serviced and is marketed for sale in full working order. Rewired in period style braided flex and PAT safety tested.
