Description

This is a very pretty small cameo glass Berluze solifleur vase originating in the workshop of the Daum brothers in Nancy, France and dating from the beginning of the 20th century, c1910.

The vase is in excellent condition for its age. This means, of course, that it shows age related wear and tear to the rim of the base consistent with some 100 years of use.

The vase is a teardrop in shape and measures 4.5 cm (1.8 inches) in diameter at its widest point. It is 16.5 cm (6.6 inches) in height. It is blown in frosted clear glass and is decorated in autumnal colours of orange, green and black, representing what appear to be blackberry brambles. The neck is plain. There are no chips, cracks, significant scratches or any obvious evidence of restoration. The words "DAUM NANCY" are carved out in cameo on the bulb.

It weighs in at 90 g. (~ 3 oz.).
