Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Bristol blue glass gained prominence in the late 18th and early 19th centuries in Bristol, England. Local glassmakers added cobalt oxide to the glass batch to create a distinctive deep blue colour, producing table items such as decanters, serving bottles, and finger bowls.

These vessels were hand-blown using lead crystal or soda glass infused with cobalt compounds. Craftsmen shaped the glass while hot, shaping the neck and mouth before using lapidary wheels to cut decorative facets, flutes, and polished bases.

Authentic period pieces often feature ground or snap-off pontil marks on the base, minor irregularities in glass thickness, micro-bubbles within the glass matrix, and appropriate light surface wear on contact points.

Blue glass vessels are suited for display on sideboards, window sills, or open shelving where natural light can pass through the cobalt material. Grouping pieces of varying heights creates an effective focal point.

Clean gently using lukewarm water and mild dish detergent. Avoid hot water, dishwashers, and harsh chemicals, as thermal shock can crack antique glass and abrasive cleaners can scratch the surface.
