Description

Hi

I have for sale the most beautiful small fully restored solid brass French crystal regulator mantel clock made in France around 1900s.

The Case

The case is in solid brass standing 23cm high x 13cm wide with a depth of 11cm it is in very good/perfect original condition and has been very well looked after over the years, with mint thick bevelled glass on all four sides.

The Dial

The dial is in white porcelain all set off with black Arabic numerals and ornate hands.

The dial again is in original condition never restored and 100% original.

The Movement

The movement is an eight-day time and strike striking the hours and halves on a small sweet gong and keeping great time just having been fully serviced.

The time is regulated by a mercury tubed pendulum.

Overall a simply beautiful clock in this original condition that looks stunning on display.

I will post or arrange delivery at a small cost the clock is too good to be damaged.

A crystal regulator clock is a style of mantel clock featuring glass panels on all four sides held within a brass or gilt bronze frame, allowing an unobstructed view of the movement and pendulum.

These timepieces are constructed primarily from heavy cast brass or gilt bronze combined with bevelled glass panes and an enamel or porcelain dial.

Authentic period pieces typically feature heavy fire-gilded or polished brass cases, hand-painted enamel dials with delicate numerals, and intricate mechanical movements with compensation pendulums.

Placing the clock on a prominent surface such as a mantelpiece, sideboard, or console table allows the reflective glass and brass elements to catch natural light and create a sophisticated focal point.

Regular maintenance involves professional cleaning and oiling of the movement every few years, avoiding direct sunlight, and handling the delicate glass panels and pendulum with care.
