Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A silver jewellery casket is a decorative lidded container designed to store precious personal items on a dressing table or vanity. Originating prominently in the 19th and early 20th centuries, these pieces were often crafted with relief ornament, textile linings, and engraved monograms.

These caskets were typically fabricated from sterling silver or silver plate, often featuring repousse or chased floral decoration. The interior was frequently fitted with silk or velvet linings to protect metal jewellery from scratching.

Authentic silver caskets generally display official hallmark stampings indicating silver purity, city of assay, and maker marks. Furthermore, genuine period examples demonstrate hand-chased details, expected signs of wear, and traditional hand-fitted hinges.

A silver jewellery casket serves as a functional accent on a bedside table, dressing table, or living room console. It contrasts effectively against dark timber surfaces or polished stone tops to create a layered aesthetic.

Clean the exterior using a soft cotton cloth and specialised silver polish to remove tarnish while preserving dark oxidisation in recessed details. Avoid submerging the object in water if it retains original interior textile linings.
