A Lovely Silver Gilt Georgian Cream Jug

A lovely early 19th Century small silver cream jug. This fine piece, dating from the reign of George III, stands on a flat base with four ball feets. The shaped body is beautifully engraved with floral and foliar motifs and is richly gilded inside. To the front is a script monogram and the handle is finishing with a cast acanthus leaf, echoing the engraved pattern. Table silver other than spoons, dating from this period is becoming increasingly rare and sought after. This wonderful example is both practical and decorative and would still grace any table, over two hundred after it was made. Dimensions below.
