As part of our Japanese works of art collection we are delighted to offer this fine quality Meiji period (1868-1912)  circa 1890 , Kazaridana (display cabinet), the black lacquered hardwood cabinet stands upon a separate base formed as simulated bamboo, and follows this bamboo theme throughout the carcass, the multitude of display shelves further decorated with pierced open fretwork gallery''s and mouldings, this very useful cabinet houses storage compartments enclosed by three pairs of doors , a drawer and a rather unusual sliding panel , the door and drawer fronts decorated in sumptuous gold lacquer decoration upon well textured natural timber panels , the decoration includes egrets , geese and other native birds either wading or flying amidst lotus plants and lakeside foliage, these particular doors latch closed with super quality onlaid mixed metal decorated catches , another pair of doors finely decorated with a hanging floral display to one side and vase of flowers to the other a...
