French carriage clock, with an 8-day movement.
The barrel spring housing and wheel chain are visible through the side panels and the jewelled lever platform escapement is visible under the top oval bevelled glass. The rear door allows access to the spring winding and hand adjustment arbours, as well as to the index lever for fine clock speed regulation.
The gilded brass case, the enamel clock face with Roman numerals and all 4 bevelled side glasses, including the door, are in very good condition, There is some slight, barely visible, nibbling to the edge of the top glass above the escapement, otherwise no chips or cracks to the glasses.
The clock mechanism has been thoroughly cleaned and lightly oiled.
A very attractive timepiece with a soft, light tick and which keeps good time.
