Victorian cranberry glass is a type of translucent pink-to-red glass produced by adding gold chloride to molten glass, most popularly during the mid-to-late 19th century in Britain and Europe.

These pieces were crafted using free-blowing or mould-blowing techniques with a glass batch containing gold particles to achieve the characteristic pinkish-red hue, often finished with applied clear glass trails or frilled rims.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit hand-finished pontil marks on the base, slight bubbles or impurities within the glass matrix, and variations in colour intensity due to manual production methods.

Position the vase on a mantelpiece or side table where natural light can pass through the translucent glass, creating vibrant colour refraction and highlighting its historical silhouette.

Clean the piece gently using lukewarm water and mild soap with a soft cloth, avoiding abrasive scourers, harsh chemicals, and extreme temperature changes to protect the delicate antique glass.
