Art Deco jewellery, prominent from the 1920s to the 1940s, is characterised by geometric symmetry, stylised motifs, and a strong emphasis on clean lines, frequently utilising platinum paired with contrasting yellow gold.

Goldsmiths of this period heavily favoured platinum for its strength and ability to hold intricate milgrain detailing, often combining it with yellow gold bands and handset diamonds.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-cut diamonds, such as transitional or old European cuts, accompanied by hand-forged metalwork, genuine wear consistent with age, and period-specific claw or bezel settings.

An antique ring pairs effectively with contemporary minimalist bands for a curated, mixed-era stacking effect, or worn alone as a statement piece against modern attire.

Regularly inspect settings with a professional jeweller to ensure stones remain secure, and clean gently using warm soapy water and a soft brush, avoiding harsh ultrasonic cleaners on fragile settings.
