An early Art Deco three stone ring from circa 1920, designed in an 18k yellow gold and platinum setting. The composition centres on a cushion cut natural ruby displaying rich raspberry red with purplish pink undertones, flanked by a pair of old mine cut diamonds in claw settings. The slim 18k yellow gold band leads to the trilogy arrangement, featuring a central ruby measuring 6.2 x 5.2mm alongside two sparkling diamonds. From the outer edge of one diamond to the other measures 15.25mm, and the setting sits 4.8mm from the finger. This piece functions as a dress ring suitable for daily wear on the hand. The warm tones of the yellow gold combine with the vibrant red of the ruby and the brilliance of the diamonds, creating a classic vintage look. The slender shank provides a comfortable fit, while the secure claw settings hold each gemstone firmly in place. It brings a touch of period elegance to any collection of fine jewellery, pairing easily with other gold accessories.

Jewellery from the 1920s often features geometric balance, clean lines, and high-contrast gemstone pairings. The three-stone or trilogy design was prominent during this era, commonly combining vibrant coloured gemstones like rubies with old European or cushion-cut diamonds.

Trilogy rings from this era were primarily constructed using 18 carat yellow gold, platinum, or a combination of both. Settings typically featured hand-carved claw or collet settings to hold natural rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and diamonds.

Authentic pieces usually exhibit period-appropriate gem cuts, such as old European or mine cuts, and display signs of hand-finishing on the mount. Additionally, hallmarking inside the band and gemological verification of unheated gemstones assist in confirming age and origin.

An antique trilogy ring serves as a understated statement piece for daily wear or formal occasions. The classic combination of yellow gold and red corundum pairs effectively alongside modern minimalist jewellery or complementary vintage bands.

Clean gently using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush, avoiding harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners. Regular inspection by a professional jeweller ensures that the claw settings remain secure over time.
