For Sale by AC Silver
Description

A stunning, fine and impressive antique 1920s 0.26 carat ruby and 0.65 carat diamond, 14 carat yellow gold and platinum set dress ring; part of our diverse ruby jewellery collections.

This stunning, fine and impressive antique 1920s ruby ring has been crafted in 14ct yellow gold with a platinum setting.

The pierced decorated, rounded rectangular shaped setting displays a 0.26ct oval faceted cut ruby, millegrain decorated collet set to the centre of the design.

The ruby is flanked to the upper and lower portions by a feature Old European round cut diamond, all collet set in a vertical linear formation.

The central array is encompassed with a pierced decorated frame incorporating twelve pavé set Old European cut diamonds.

The trifurcating ring shoulders integrate with the main setting and are ornamented with three further pavé set diamonds in a combination of Old European and Dutch cuts; the shoulders blend seamlessly with the plain hallmarked ring shank.

The ring is hallmarked to the interior of the shank with the 14 carat gold mark (585) and has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 14 carat gold and platinum.

This impressive dress ring is supplied with an IDGL diamond and gemstone grading report card.

A 1920s ruby and diamond dress ring, with its central ruby makes it an ideal gift for the 15th or 40th anniversary, which are traditionally associated with rubies. Its antique elegance also makes it a meaningful and stylish statement piece.

Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Art Deco dress rings from the 1920s are characterised by geometric silhouettes, intricate millegrain detailing, and the architectural arrangement of gemstones within panel or plaque settings.

Jewellery from this period frequently featured yellow gold or platinum mounts set with diamonds and contrasting coloured gemstones, incorporating pierced openwork and white metal-faced settings.

Authentic pieces generally feature period hallmark stamps, fine hand-applied millegrain edging, old-cut or transitional-cut diamonds, and hand-finished openwork undersaddles rather than modern cast imitations.

An antique dress ring functions as a focal statement piece, best paired with understated minimalist attire or clean tailored evening wear to highlight the geometric plaque setting.

Clean the ring gently using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush, avoiding ultrasonic cleaners which can damage delicate millegrain details or loosen settings.
