Antique 1.16ct Diamond and 18ct White Gold Trilogy Ring Circa 1930

1920 - 1940
For Sale by AC Silver
Description

A fine and impressive 1.16 carat diamond and 18 carat white gold three stone dress ring; part of our diverse antique jewellery and estate jewelry collections.

This fine and impressive antique 1930's diamond ring has been crafted in 18ct white gold.

The subtly domed setting is ornamented with a feature 0.42ct Old European round cut diamond, flanked on either side by a 0.36ct and 0.38ct Old European cut diamond, all in a horizontal linear formation; this simplistic design showcases the era's shift from delicate 1920s lace filigree to clean, low-profile and structured modern aesthetic forms.

The broad shoulders melding with the main setting and blending seamlessly with the plain ring shank.

The ring is hallmarked to the outer surface of the shank and has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18ct gold.

This antique 1930's unisex ring is supplied with an IDGL diamond grading report certificate for the centre stone, in addition to an IDGL diamond grading report card for the supporting diamonds.

The 1930s diamond ring combines the timeless symbolism of a trilogy design with the refined elegance of antique craftsmanship. Set with 1.16ct of diamonds, the three-stone arrangement creates a balanced display of brilliance and is traditionally associated with the past, present and future. Its distinctive 1930s character makes it particularly suited to anniversaries, engagements or as a meaningful heirloom piece.

Images do not always reflect the true colour and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual colour and showcases each stone.

Condition

This impressive trilogy ring is excellent quality, set with very high colour graded diamonds displaying a fine white colour and brilliance.

The ring is an excellent gauge of gold and is in excellent condition.

The hallmark to the outer surface of the shank is illegible.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this fine example of diamond jewellery.

This Art Deco trilogy ring dates from the 1930s period. It is fashioned from 18ct white gold in a silver colour and holds a combined total of 1.16 carats of diamonds. The item displays a wide band, a smooth polished finish and a horizontal linear formation with three round diamonds secured in a flush mounting. The setting measures 1.54 cm in width. Items of this type are worn on the hand as a dress ring, engagement ring or anniversary token. The piece sits on the finger and suits everyday wear or formal occasions, functioning well as a meaningful heirloom piece in a modern collection.

Trilogy rings featuring three horizontally aligned gemstones gained popularity during the Art Deco era of the 1920s and 1930s, traditionally symbolising the past, present, and future within a streamlined, geometric setting.

Rings from the 1930s were predominantly crafted using 18ct white gold or platinum to complement the icy brilliance of diamonds, often featuring low-profile, integrated settings.

Authentic Art Deco rings feature geometric design elements, period-specific metal hallmarks, clean setting lines, and transitional or old European cut diamonds set close to the band.

A low-profile trilogy ring functions effectively as an alternative engagement ring, a stand-alone dress piece, or stacked alongside flat white gold or platinum bands.

Clean the setting using warm water, mild liquid soap, and a soft brush, and arrange regular professional inspections to verify claw and stone security.
