This Georgian longcase clock dates from the 1750 period and functions as an 8 day timekeeper. The piece is constructed from mahogany with a dark brown finish and flame mahogany veneer, complemented by a brass dial, cast brass spandrels and brass finials. The pagoda top includes a sound fret, and the breakarch clock has an arched brass dial containing a strike silent lever. The case features moulded details, a glazed door framing the 12" dial and a long trunk door with well figured wood grain. The clock stands at 233 cm in maximum height. It is suitable for placement in a hallway, living room or study in a traditional interior setting.

Georgian longcase clocks from around 1770 typically feature flame mahogany cases, arched hoods with brass finials, and weight-driven eight-day movements with brass and silvered dials.

Cases were predominantly constructed from solid oak or pine veneered with flame mahogany or walnut, while clockwork mechanisms utilized cast brass plates, steel arbors, and silvered brass chapter rings.

Authentic period movements feature hand-cut gears, cast brass corner spandrels, engraved silvered chapter rings, and functional secondary indicators such as date apertures or strike-silent dials.

Position the clock as a focal architectural element in an entrance hall, drawing room, or library, pairing warm wood tones with contemporary neutral walls to highlight the historic woodwork.

Wind the weights weekly using the correct key, ensure the cabinet sits completely level on the floor, and have the movement cleaned and lubricated by a qualified horologist every three to five years.
