A very good quality outstanding musical grandfarther clock in a mahogany case.
Made in 1901.
This clock plays 2 tunes,Westminster and Whittington chimes.
2 small dials control which tune you want to play and a chime and silent dial.
Playing on 8 long tube gongs for the tunes and 1 long gong for the hour.
The face have engraved center with a silvered dial and Arabic numbers, toped with an arch enclosing a rolling moon .
The works have been cleaned and are all in perfect working order,keeping very good time, chiming on the quarter hour and stricking on the hour.
The 3 brass weights drive the time and the tunes, a steel and brass pendulum all origional to the clock.
The case is of great quality mahogany with a glazed long door showing the weights etc,
The hood and case have blind fret work, hood has a swan neck pediment witha single brass finial.
The whole clock is in wonderful condition and very pleasing to behold.
