We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Cranberry glass, also known as Gold Ruby glass, is a red-tinted glass crafted by adding gold chloride to molten glass. Highly popular during the Victorian era in Great Britain, it was frequently used for decorative stemware, decanters, and table accessories.

These coupes were typically constructed in two parts, featuring a hand-blown cranberry-tinted glass bowl fused onto a solid clear glass or lead crystal stem with a circular foot.

Authentic pieces often feature subtle colour variations due to the hand-mixed gold chloride process, polished pontil marks on the base, hand-cut stem facets, and slight height irregularities characteristic of mouth-blown glass production.

Cranberry glass stemware can be displayed on a metallic bar cart, arranged inside a glass-fronted cabinet, or used as accent drinkware for formal dinner table settings to add depth and historical character.

Wash by hand using lukewarm water and mild dish soap with a non-abrasive soft cloth. Avoid dishwashers, extreme temperature changes, and harsh chemical cleaners to prevent clouding or thermal shock.
