Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This pair of Jacobean revival bedside chests dates to 1920 and follows an English country house design tradition. Formed from solid oak with a bleached natural finish, the timber exhibits a pale grain variation alongside visible wood knots and darker shaded tones on the lower drawer fronts. Each chest contains three drawers with geometric panel mouldings and prominent geometric carved corner details, fitted with small brass ring pulls on circular backplates. The structures stand upon four turned bun feet beneath stepped base mouldings and carry heavy stepped top cornices. Every piece measures 59 cm high by 43 cm wide and 33 cm deep. Placed beside a bed, these compact chests provide accessible storage for nightly essentials while fitting neatly into traditional bedroom layouts. Alternatively, the matching pair functions as small accent drawer units in a hallway, dressing room or living space.

FAQs

Jacobean-style oak furniture is defined by robust timber construction, geometric panel mouldings, and architectural proportions inspired by 17th-century English woodwork.

These pieces are typically constructed from solid oak, featuring hand-fitted drawer boxes, brass ring pull handles, and turned wooden bun feet.

Look for visible grain structure, applied geometric panel mouldings on drawer fronts, dovetail drawer joinery, and natural patination on brass hardware.

Place one on either side of a bed to create symmetry, pairing the textured oak finish with neutral linen bedding and understated modern brass lighting.

Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a high-quality clear beeswax periodically to protect the timber surface from drying out.
